New Polishes At Medusa's Threads & Ebay

On ebay I have 2 polishes this week. I am more than happy to combine shipping for items purchased from Medusa's Thread & ebay! I tried to make these 3 day listings, but it told that I couldn't for security reasons. Ebay is confusing.

Zoya Faye: An Unexpected New Favorite!

Another stunner from Zoya's new Sunshine collection. Zoya calls this one a bronzed mauve with purple and brown undertones flooded with bright gold sparkle. There is so much going on with this one! I took pictures in direct sun and the shade to try to capture it's many facets.

The formula was lovely. It's sheer like Apple from the same collection, but once again the gold bling masks that 99% of the time. I've already worn this beauty twice! Gorgeous!!

Zoya Apple

This is 3 coats of Zoya Apple from their new Sunshine collection. Zoya does an excellent job of describing this one as a luminous yellow-toned apple green packed with gold metallic sparkle. The formula is very nice, a bit sheer, but this polish is packed with so much bling that you can hardly notice any visible nail line.

I felt that lots of photos were needed to capture the true beauty of this gorgeous and unique polish. I wish I had gotten a shot in the shade. It looks amazing but very different. Did any of you pick this one up in Zoya's recent polish exchange? I think I'll try layering it over something soon. It may not be sheer enough, but I can't wait to try!

Zoya Phoebe

This is Zoya Phoebe from the Mod Matte set. The formula on this one is much better than the others, Mitzi & Lolly. Still a bit difficult, but manageable.

It's also the only one with shimmer. As far as color, Zoya Phoebe is pretty amazing. I got lots of comments on this one!

Zoya Mitzi

Dang! I had even more trouble with this one than I did with Zoya Lolly. As I stated in that post, I love mattes & I love Zoya, but I'm having so much trouble with the formula on these.

Once again, I tried thin coats & thick coats. I even started over because I REALLY love this color! I love the gorgeous frosted glass bottle. I love the idea of a matte chartreuse. But after two attempts, this was as even as i could get it. I just can't get a smooth surface.

I'm going to keep this one too and try it out again. I know it's possible to get it to look nice because I've seen pictures on other blogs. I've also seen several others who are having at least as much trouble as I am though.

The next day I added a quick stripe of the other colors from the Mod Matte set. This worked much better than the dots and again I think the colors are spectacular together. But even after adding a topcoat you can still see my lumpy application.

Zoya Lolly

Zoya Lolly is way outside of my color comfort zone but I couldn't wait to try it. I love matte polishes and I love Zoya. This is from their new Mod Matte collection.

I am still not an expert at painting my nails. In fact it takes me forever and Ashley makes fun of me whenever she sees how slowly I paint. This made working with Zoya Lolly difficult for me since matte polishes often dry fast.

I tried thin & thick coats, but I just couldn't get it to level out. This is only 2 coats though, so maybe I need to try a third. I've seen other bloggers who clearly didn't have this problem since you can see that it's smooth in their photos and a few like me who are having trouble.

Even with the formula issues, I'm keeping this one for my toes this summer. Maybe I'll get the hang of the formula. I loved the matte finish and surprisingly I liked the bright pink.

My boyfriend Will thinks it's super awesome and suggested that I use it to paint my pickup truck. How cool would that be! He's wearing it on his scary toes right now too.

The next day I tried making some dots with the other colors from the Mod Matte set. Once again the formulas dry so fast that it made things difficult, but I sure do love these colors together! I added a topcoat so you could see Lolly glossy as well.

La Rosa Crackle Maroon Red

This is one coat of La Rosa Crackle Maroon Red over Finger Paints Yellow Bikini. The formula is nice and I like that it separates a lot, allowing the base color to show through.

I went looking specifically for a burgundy crackle so I could match my nails to these roses that Will brought home recently. The La Rosa is much more purple than my roses, but you get the idea. I love these pictures! It was a pretty crazy combination for every day wear though.

China Glaze Ruby Pumps & Dotting Tools

This is the longest my nails have ever been! I think they are actually too long for me, but it was fun to try out once, just to see. I used the gorgeous China Glaze Ruby Pumps for the base and Quirius Caribbean Turquoise & American Apparel Hassid for the dots. This is the first time I've successfully used my dotting tools and I love this manicure! Thanks again Alisa for getting them for me for Christmas!

Born Pretty Kelier Crackle Black & A Giveaway Winner

Here we have Kelier Black Crackle over a few different polishes. The brush is the wonkiest I've ever seen, but it really doesn't matter with a crackle polish. These sell for around $4 with free shipping and no minimum order. The Kelier crackles have a very different effect than the China Glaze Crackles & the OPI Shatters & the crackle I showed you yesterday.

I wanted to try it out as soon as it arrived. This is one coat over Zoya Dove. It looked pretty cool so I've used it a few more times since then.


I really wanted to try it over a red polish because I thought it would look like cooling lava. Again one coat over Color Club Feel The Beat. I love it! Sorry for the messy clean up. The Kelier is REALLY difficult to remove, even from skin with acetone.


I didn't have any untrieds for about a month and I couldn't decide what to do with my nails. I asked Will and he suggested the Kelier over a glow in the dark polish. Great idea, but almost impossible to photograph!


Last I used it as an accent nail over my beloved Maybelline Khaki Fringe.
