Zoya Darcy

Zoya Darcy is from their Summer 2013 Stunning Collection.

Zoya describes Darcy as a warm sunny yellow creme & I wholeheartedly agree. I don't have another yellow creme quite like it in my stash. Maybe not the most flattering with my skin tone but I'm keeping it anyway!
Zoya's blog recently featured a post about how to apply white & pastel creme polishes. These polishes are notorious for being rather difficult to apply well & I would include any yellow creme in this category. I decided to try the manicurist's advice of starting with a thin layer (not worrying about streaks at all), followed by a medium coat, followed by a final very thin coat to even out any streaks.
I have to say it worked quite well. The first thin coat of Darcy looked like a streaky mess but by the second medium coat, my nails only had a few streaks left. I finished with a very thin coat, just looking for streaks & I had an almost perfect finish. More importantly for me, I didn't have a ton of polish on my nails like I always do when I normally apply difficult cremes. I have a bad tendency to make my polish coats way too thick. I've been working to correct this bad habit & Zoya's suggestions will go a long way towards breaking me of this manicure mistake.
Thanks for reading!

  1. It's a great color, but I have to admit - I think I'll be getting it mainly for the name. Any polish with the same name as a character from a Jane Austen novel is automatically a beautiful color in my book!
