Zoya Rue

Zoya Rue is from their first release for 2014, Zoya Naturel.

Zoya Rue is my favorite from this collection, a gorgeous soft pink with hints of lavender. I must say Zoya Rue looks drastically different in photos I've seen across the internet, everywhere from a very pale pink to more purple tinged & darker like I've shown here. Lighting & skintone seem to make this one very much a chameleon. Neutral polishes are always going to be much more dependent on an individual than something like the latest knockout red or spacey blue glitter. I love this one though! Rue has a nice formula that covers in two coats.

Quick Nail Art with Zoya Payton & Amy

Sometimes I just can't decide what to do with my nails & I ask my adorable boyfriend Will for help. He picked out this killer color combination that I would never have picked on my own. I started with the beautiful Zoya Payton & added a quick swipe of Zoya Amy. Done! I love it!

Dragon Scale Nails With Zoya

I just finished reading Dance With Dragons, the 5th installment in the Song of Ice & Fire series, commonly referred to as Game of Thrones, so I decided to try some dragon scale nails. I found this great post & tutorial from Candy Glaze to get get me started.

My original idea was to do a version in white, cream, & gold to match the description of Viserion, one of the dragons featured in the series. That color combo didn't work out at all; I think a dark base color is need for this technique. I switched to Zoya Kelly for the first color & applied a fairly thick layer then scratched the scale pattern. It's a very easy technique. Next I added a bit of sparkle on the tips of each scale with Zoya Hazel. Finally I added Zoya Kerry into the bare parts where I'd removed Kelly to form the pattern.

I'd call this one semi-successful because I still don't think I've found the right color scheme. The gold was too much but my nails didn't look finished with just the first two steps. Easy enough to try again someday.

Zoya Taylor

Zoya Taylor is from their first release for 2014, Zoya Naturel.

Zoya Taylor is a nice shade of khaki but the formula didn't work well for me at all. Shown here at 2 coats, it was stringy, streaky & didn't self level at all. Adding a topcoat didn't help as you can see in my pictures. I normally love Zoya polishes & I haven't seen others having the same issue with the formula that I've had. I'm going to pass this one along to a friend though since I have other neutral that I have better formulas in the same color family like Cho, Farah, & Jacqueline.

Patterns With Zoya

I keep a Pinterest board full of nail art inspiration & I finally got around to using this pin from illustrator Danielle Kroll. I stuck to just two colors but the result is fun. Zoya Normani is the base color & I used Zoya Liberty for the patterns. Pixie Dust polishes work great for nail art!

Bacon & Eggs With Sation

Sation Abbacadazzle really reminded me of egg yolks so I decided to do some hilarious nail art. I used Sation Snow White to leave a half moon of Abbacadazzle. Then I added french tips that look like bacon using Sation Sporty Kar Red & Sation Of Corset I'll Call You. I think they turned out pretty great! Not something I'd wear often of course but they made me laugh all day.
What's the funniest nail art you've ever done?

Zoya Odette

Zoya Odette is from their first release for 2014, Zoya Naturel.

Zoya Odette is a dusty, medium toned, orchid creme. Although the color didn't seem exciting at first glance, it is unique to my collection & very pretty. Shown here at 2 coats that applied much better after I added a few drops of thinner. I'm keeping this lovely lady.

Layering With Zoya Mason & Mosheen

I wasn't a fan of either of these polishes but I decided to give them one more try before passing them along to a friend. I started with Zoya Mason & added one coat of Zoya Mosheen. Still not a fan of either.

Zoya Normani

Zoya Normani is from their first release for 2014, Zoya Naturel.

Zoya Normani is a pale brown creme with a hint of mauve, shown here at two coats. I think it could have used a third since I was trying to apply thin coats because the polish was a bit thick. It's a lovely color that will look great on a wide range of skintones but I'm going to pass this one along to a friend. I prefer Zoya Pasha, a highly underrated polish in my opinion!

Zoya Chantal & Dhara

I keep a Pinterest board full of nail art that I love. This manicure is one of my all time favorites. I tried to recreate the look here but it didn't look right with my nail shape. This was my attempt to save the manicure. Not sure what I think but I got lots of compliments on it & I love the color & texture combinations. Zoya Chantal is the base & I used Zoya Dhara for the accents.

Sation 3 Free-Dom

My pictures just don't do this polish justice. I love cream polishes in this color family & Sation 3 Free-Dom has a fantastic formula. Shown here at just two coats, the application really is superb for a pale cream polish. It's a lovely putty color & new a favorite for sure. I wore it for 5 days straight!
