Zoya Aubrey

Zoya Aubrey is from their Naturel 2 collection.

Zoya Aubrey is a medium toned mauve creme polish. Not exciting to me at all but a nice polish nonetheless and the sort that most people could use in their stash for more conservative events. Shown here at 2 easily applied coats. (It's possible that this one will be more to my liking when fall comes around. Right now all I want are summer brights!)

I Love Nail Polish Cygnus Loop

My sister Ashley got me this incredible polish from I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) and I'm so glad since I never would have picked it up on my own. ILNP Cygnus Loop is part of their Ultrachrome collection & it definitely lives up to the name! Cygnus Loop goes on very thin & streaky at one coat but looks perfect after the second easily applied coat. It looks like a rich purple metallic about 65% of the time but shifts from dark blue to orange to red with hints of yellow & green at the edges. This one is a stunner even in low light & someone actually grabbed my hand at a bar and asked me if it was magic!

I love to read and this enchanting book seemed like a great backdrop for my magical nails! Be my friend on Goodreads if you're an avid reader too!
I've definitely got my eye on a few more polishes from ILNP. Do you have any favorites from this new to me brand?

Zoya Rooney

Zoya Rooney is from their Tickled Summer 2014 collection.

Rooney is a nicely balanced bright medium toned pink creme that will look great with lots of skin-tones. Shown here at two thin coats that applied nicely. Zoya Rooney is a great addition to my pink collection!

Simple Geometric Nail Art With Zoya

This manicure was inspired by the always amazing Pshiiit. I love her photos and nail art especially her nail art inspired by fashion like this fantastic post. I finally got around to do a version of this manicure. It's super simple but I never thought about orienting the triangles this way & I like the results. I used Zoya Alma for my base color & then added a triangle of Zoya Amy & finished with a smaller triangle in Zoya Neely.

World Cup Puma Cleats With Zoya!

Only two more games! This has been a truly astounding tournament for so many reasons. Today I've got some very simple nails inspired by these Puma cleats that many players have worn throughout the tournament including players from both Argentina & Germany for tomorrow's final match. Fun shoes for the world's biggest stage, right is pink, left is blue! I used Zoya Lolly & Zoya Phoebe. Apparently Puma makes the most eye-catching shoes because I did this manicure inspired by Puma last World Cup!
I LOVE my Pumas!
Still love my hair too. About as close as I'll get to a crazy World Cup haircut!

Sally Hansen Carnival

I almost never buy polishes without looking up swatches & reviews first but Sally Hansen Carnival just looked so fantastic that I grabbed it without doing my homework. Not a good idea! Most every review I've seen shows the sad truth, ugly bubbling is almost inevitable. I decided to try it out anyway of course & I had high hopes at first. It actually applied quite nicely with a decent amount of glitter over my previous manicure of Nicole By OPI Better After Dark. It didn't seem gloopy or bubbly at all & I applied Essie Good To Go thinking all would be fine. Over the next few hours tons of bubbles formed wrecking what is otherwise a fantastic idea for a polish. Sally Hansen Carnival is a matte glitter with a truly gorgeous & quirky color palette that I found irresistible but so far no good! I'm going to try adding some polish thinner & giving it another chance since I love the colors so much but this one is probably a dud.

World Cup Nails Argentina VS Netherlands

I like both teams in today's semi-final match so I did one hand for each! Blue & white stripes with a hint of gold sparkle for the Argentina Albicelestes & sparkly orange with a Netherlands flag on my other hand. All Sation polishes.

Nicole By OPI Better After Dark

Nicole By OPI Better After Dark was part of a promotion early this year involving Dove Chocolate. They gave away 25,000 sets of two polishes & a coupon for chocolate. I was a lucky winner! This is the first Nicole By OPI polish I've ever tried. The bottle is very oddly shaped & so difficult to hold for pictures without looking awkward! I love the wide brush though. Better After Dark is a lovely medium brown loaded with red shimmer. It was very sheer at first but looked great after just two coats that practically applied themselves thanks to the combination of the wide brush & excellent formula. Not the most exciting color in the world but definitely a keeper!

Zoya Alma

Zoya Alma is from their Summer 2014 Bubbly collection.

Zoya describes Alma as "a warm golden peach metallic featuring the exclusive liquid-metal holographic jelly formula" but I'd call it more of a straight up though slightly faded orange. I love the way Zoya does gold & silver micro shimmer & it looks particularly stunning in a jelly formula. As for the holographic sparkles, they are the same lovely pastel cellophane glitter featured in Monet, just in a smaller size. Zoya Alma is shown here at 3 easily applied thin coats. Great color for summer! This is a nice polish but I definitely prefer the more saturated Jesy from the same collection.
