Zoya Yuna

Zoya India is from their Fall 2014 Ignite Collection.
Zoya Yuna is medium toned, slightly green leaning, grey polish absolutely loaded with metallic microshimmer. It's a true stunner and so unique. I got lots of compliments on this one! Shown here at 2 easily applied coats.

Interlocking Dots Nail Art With Zoya

I tried my best to find the person who first did this design but my google skills were defeated. I found this post from January of 2012 saying that they'd seen the design before but I couldn't find anything older than that. I like to give credit where credit is due so if any of you know where this design originated please let me know!
While this design looks very complicated, it's actually very easy to pull off! I started with a base of Zoya India and then used Zoya Jules to complete the rest of the steps as shown in the post linked above. I love the finished manicure and might try this design again next spring with some fun pastels.

Revlon Spanish Moss

I don't think Revlon makes this particular line of polish any more so I'm glad that a friend passed Revlon Spanish Moss my way. Army green has always been one of my favorite colors and Spanish Moss is the closest I've found to a true army green polish so far. Nice formula that covers in 2 eaily applied coats.
I love to read! If you do too please find me on goodreads!

Jamberry Glitter Gradient

A friend of mine let me borrow a few Jamberry polishes to try out since I've never used them before and I was able to do a lovely glitter gradient with two of the polishes. I started out with a base of Jamberry Kiss and then added a bit of Jamberry Stardust to the base of my nails. Stardust is a mixture of very fine glitter in fuchsia, gold, and turquoise. It would make a fantastic Mardi Gras polish!

She let me borrow two other polishes that are sadly discontinued. The yellow polish is called Lemon Drop and it's one of the best yellow cremes I've ever tried. Yellow cremes are notorious for being a streaky gloppy messes but this one was fantastic and barely needed a second coat!

Jamberry Kiss

A friend of mine let me borrow a few Jamberry polishes to try out since I've never used them before. I tried one set of their nail wraps earlier this year and they are a lot of fun! Pictured here we have Jamberry Kiss from one of their summer collections. The brush is wider than average which I love and Kiss applied like a dream; I barley needed a second coat. I'm looking forward to trying more since this one is so nice and it looks like they have some pretty options!

Zoya Remy

Zoya Remy is from their Fall 2014 Ignite Collection.
Go get Zoya Remy right now. Just do it. It's one of the most amazing polishes in my collection and a must have for any blue polish lover. Shown here at ONE COAT, Remy was like applying liquid velvet to my nails. I still can't believe I got all of this gorgeous color and depth in just one coat. Deep rich blue absolutely loaded with gold and copper micro shimmer. Zoya Remy is simply stunning and just might be my favorite polish of the year!

Zoya India

Zoya India is from their Fall 2014 Ignite Collection.
Zoya India applies like liquid velvet and barely needed a second coat. This color isn't really my style but it will look great on my toes this fall and winter. This color is so rich that I can also see myself reaching for it for Christmas themed nail art.

Nail Art Fail!

Sometimes nail art just doesn't work out. I love my Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens and decided to try some stripes on top of a textured polish, the gorgeous Sally Hansen Cinny Sweet. I grabbed the Blue nail art pen and went to work. I loved the color combo and the folksy imperfect lines but I thought I needed to add a topcoat since one of the great things about the nail art pens is the fact that you can wipe off any mistakes and start over.
Amazingly, I've never put a topcoat on a polish labeled as a texture but I gave it shot anyway. One coat of my usual topcoat and everything looked great! I left the house shortly after adding the topcoat and by the time I arrived at my destination my nails were not looking so good anymore. The topcoat had soaked in and left my nails looking lumpy and pretty gross!
It seems obvious to me now that I needed to add more than one coat of topcoat to smooth out the texture but I spent a whole night in public walking around with this icky mess. Lesson learned and thought it still might be amusing to some of you! What's your biggest nail art fail? Did you have to wear it in public?

Dotted Nail Art With Zoya

I keep a Pinterest board full of nail art I'd love to try someday and today's nails were inspired by the wonderful So Nailicious and her lovely dotticure from this summer.
I used Zoya Chanelle for my base color and then picked fun summer colors for this transitional time between summer and fall. From left to right Wendy, Tilda, Rocha, & Darcy. Easy enough to do on both hands and one of my favorite manicures of the year!

I love this shirt! Another old Threadless t-shirt that I just had to have for some reason. Looks like a cute bunny in the first shot, but Mr. Choppy's true nature is revealed below!

Zoya Genevieve

Zoya Genevieve is from their Fall 2014 Entice Collection.
Zoya Genevieve is described as a leather grey creme by Zoya but it actually has a hint of hidden shimmer making it the odd man out in this collection. The formula is thinner than the rest of the collection and goes on streaky in the first coat. All looks great by the second easily applied coat though. Genevieve is darker than I normally go for but I don't have a polish quite like it so I'm keeping her for sure.

I love this weird sci-fi series from Jeff VanderMeer called The Southern Reach Trilogy! You can see what else I've been reading on Goodreads.

Simple Nail Art With Milani

Earlier this year I struck manicure gold when I did these stunning nails with my beloved China Glaze 2NITE holo polish. Since I liked the look so much I decided to do something similar with some Milani polishes. Here we have Milani Fresh Teal with a wide strip of Milani HD. I love it & it's so easy!

Fall Color Blocking With Zoya

I keep a Pinterest Board full of nail art ideas and used this pin of a gorgeous Gucci dress as inspiration for today's nails.
I started with a base of Zoya Spencer and then used masking tape to add Zoya Sasha and finished it off with a freehand stripe of Zoya Toni. Perfect for fall and easy enough to do on both hands!

Zoya Claire

Zoya Claire is from their Fall 2014 Entice Collection.
Zoya Claire is a rich dark burgundy leaning toward brown that never looks black even in low light. It's a little darker than I normally go for but the formula is truly excellent and it is a very fall appropriate shade. Definitely a keeper!
