Swatch Sticks Of My Stash

Earlier this year I finally made swatch sticks for all of my polishes. I was able to borrow a label maker which made this task fairly easy though still time consuming. It was lots of fun to play with all of my polishes! I've got quite a few new polishes since then but I'll be able to catch up soon. I'm still not sure about my color organization and I'll probably go through and redo them soon. I know some of you love to see collection photos so here you go!

Zoya Imogen

Zoya Imogen is from their Wishes collection for Winter/ Holidays 2014.
Zoya Imogen is a Magical Pixie Dust, supposedly similar to their Spring and Summer sets. I loved their super textured look and the holographic glitter. Unfortunately, Imogen and the other Magical Pixie Dusts from this set just don't have much Pixie Dust. Imogen is also so packed with holographic glitter that I felt like my nails just looked messy. It doesn't dry matte but I don't think I'll like this one even with a top coat so I'll be passing it on to a friend. Overall the Wishes collection just doesn't do much for me.

Smart Nails Spider Sticker Stencils

I've been using Smart Nails Sticker Stencils for years and I love them so much! Here we have a quick manicure featuring their spider stencil. I've always liked spiders so having them on my nails doesn't bother me a bit! I started with Deborah Lippmann Fake It Til You Make It and then added spiders using ILNP Cygnus Loop. Such an easy way to get fine details!
You still have a chance to win some Smart Nails of your very own by entering my giveaway!

Maybelline Gilded Rose

Maybelline Gilded Rose is from their Color Show Brocade collection. It's one of the prettiest polishes in my collection and a one coat wonder! Gilded Rose is a super reflective pale yellow gold polish with a healthy sprinkling of small and medium dusty rose glitter. The metallic gold is so shiny and gorgeous and dense that I stopped at just one coat on my right hand as pictured below.
I went ahead and did 2 coats on my left hand but I could barely see a difference. Maybelline Gilded Rose is a stunner that I didn't want to take off my nails!

OPI Heart Throb

I don't have very many OPI polishes but I really love their wide brush. OPI Heart Throb is one of those colors I would never pick out for myself (so pink!) but I ended up loving. Shown here at 3 easily applied coats, Heart Throb is a nicely balanced classic pink jelly polish that will look great on a wide range of skin tones. Nothing new but still gorgeous! I think this color actually works great with all of the cold weather we've been having too.

Zoya Arianna

Looks like Zoya's press samples for their Ultra Pixie Dust collection had some issues so this post isn't representative of what you can purchase at Ulta or from Zoya. For an accurate representation please check out this great post from Lavish Layerings!
Zoya Arianna is from their Ultra Pixie Dust Collection.
Zoya Arianna is a wine colored Pixie Dust polish with red hex glitter. My bottle didn't look much like a Pixie Dust simply because it doesn't seem to have nearly enough of the Pixie Dust particles, allowing the jelly base color to show quite a bit and causing a strange finish that never dried matte. I love the color so I might have to go purchase a retail version since I love the Pixie Dust polishes so much.

Sally Hansen Work Of Tart

Sally Hansen Work of Tart is from their Sugar Shimmer collection. I love textured polishes and this one looks so gorgeous in the bottle. Unfortunately the formula is pretty terrible. Shown here at 3 coats, it was very streaky at two and still not quite even after the third coat. I could live with that but it also took over two and a half hours to dry! The color and finish are drop dead gorgeous though, dusty faded blue raspberry with tons of gold micro shimmer. Work of Tart has a contemptible formula but is just too pretty and unique to pass along. Maybe I can layer one coat of it over a similar base color next time.

Zoya Willa

Zoya Willa is from their Wishes collection for Winter/ Holidays 2014.
Overall this collection just doesn't do much for me but I am very happy to finally have a black creme Zoya polish. Zoya Willa is nothing special though, I have other black creme polish that apply like a dream in just one coat but Willa most definitely requires two. Very streaky at first but just fine. I'll be using it all the time for nail art. In fact I've already used it for my Burberry plaid nails!

Zoya Nori

Zoya Nori is from their upcoming Wishes collection for Winter/ Holidays 2014.
Zoya Nori is a Magical Pixie Dust, supposedly similar to their Spring and Summer sets. I loved their super textured look and the holographic glitter. Unfortunately, Nori and the other Magical Pixie Dusts from this set just don't have much Pixie Dust. Nori is still a truly pretty polish but it would be so much more exciting to me if it truly looked like the textured Pixie dusts I love so much.

The base color reminds me of one of my all time favorite Zoyas, Dream. Zoya Nori was fairly easy to apply and is shown here at 2 coats. Dry time is longer than most Pixie Dusts and it never dried matte. I'll keep Nori for now because the color really is stunning and I love blues. Maybe I'll like it more with a topcoat.
Keep up with what I'm reading on Goodreads!
