JIn Soon Charme

Jin Soon Charme is from their 2015 summer collection.

This is my first Jin Soon so here's information from the company about their polish line.
All JINsoon formulas are 5-free and formulated without harsh chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin and camphor. A high gloss nail lacquer that is long lasting with a chip-proof finish and a rapid drying time. This double patented formula delivers a long-lasting manicure with a rich and lustrous color payoff in a single coat.
Jin Soon Charme is a great color but overall I can't recommend this polish at $18 a bottle. The brush/cap is of the pop off variety with a stubby ridged handle and short brush underneath that I found awkward to use. It seems very cheap for the price. Also the bottles aren't quite full size, another reason I can't justify the $18 price tag.
The formula was typical of many pale cremes, streaky and not very self-leveling. Charme is shown here at three fairly thick coats. You can find a similar color for half the price and the bottle and rest of the packaging don't add any value. Am I missing something ladies? I'll pay for a high end product that feels high end (I have Rouge Louboutin!) but this line doesn't make the cut.

You can keep up with what I'm reading on Goodreads!

Sally Hansen Quick Brick

Sally Hansen Quick Brick is part of a limited edition set of Sally Hansen's Insta Dri polish line. Quick Brick applied like a dream and is shown here at two coats but I probably could have gotten by with just one. I absolutely love the Insta Dri brushes because they are wide and curved and just so easy to use. Great classic red cremes aren't hard to find but if you don't already have a few in your stash go pick this one up at your local drugstore!

Layering With Sally Hansen

I picked up Sally Hansen Sea-ing Stars on a whim and tried it out right before an event. It ended up being way too sheer to wear alone so I saved the day by topping it with my beloved Sally Hansen Distressed Denim Crackle polish. I'll always love crackles!

LVX Indigo Bleu

LVX Indigo Bleu is from their Spring 2013 collection. This is my first polish from LVX. Here's a little about their brand directly from their website.
LVX brings you luxury and fashion without compromise. We are dedicated to launching the hottest collections for each season by translating the top runway colors based on emerging trends in high fashion.
Our philosophy is to fuse high fashion with nail color. We determine the top trends by closely studying thousands of runway presentations from renowned designers. Our colors are hand selected to be the top colors of the season.
Our long lasting, chip resistant and gel-like formula is free of the 5 toxic and harsh chemicals found in most common nail lacquer formulas. LVX products are formulated without the use of Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene and Camphor. We are devoted to providing you with top quality, socially responsible and vegan-friendly luxury products without compromising quality, durability and finish.
LVX nail lacquer is cruelty free. All products are produced in the U.S.A
LVX Indigo Bleu is a gorgeous super dark purple with blue undertones shown here at 2 easily applied coats. A very lovely color that never looks black even in low light.

However, LVX bills itself as a luxury brand and the polishes retail for $16. If I'm paying that much for a polish I want a nice bottle and brush and this one just doesn't cut it. I personally don't like pop off caps and the actual brush handle is stubby and ridged. The actual brush is cut very straight and I found the whole thing a bit difficult to use. I have other gorgeous blues that cost half the price and have nicer brushes.

Layering With Sally Hansen Pearl Crush Polishes

Sally Hansen's new Pearl Crush polishes are very interesting but a little tough to figure out so I've got lots to say about them! Here we have Sally Hansen Mer-Mint and Shell And Tell layered over Sally Hansen Slick Black. The three Pearl Crush polishes I've tried are too sheer to be worn alone and are meant to be layered but I had a hard time figuring out what colors to choose for a base coat for these two; black seemed like a good default choice.

Both Pearl Crush polishes have fairly large hexagon mylar glitters that constantly shift colors, really gorgeous glitters! Mer-Mint also has a duochrome shimmer that shifts between turquoise and pink and Shell And Tell has a pink shimmer. The polishes apply nicely and I didn't need to do any fishing for the large glitter. The glitters did occasionally stick to each other though creating very small stacks of 2-4 glitters. It was very easy to spot and fix with the brush (I just touched them again and then placed the glitter where I wanted it) and some people might not have noticed. I applied 2 coats of each mostly to make sure the shimmer didn't have any brushstrokes.

Overall the effect was quite remarkable. I decided the glitter looked like droplets of water that were constantly catching the light. I think I could have picked a better base color for both polishes though. These aren't for everyone but if you love unique polishes give them a try! I have one more Pearl Crush to show you soon and it is by far my favorite of the three I tried.

Nails Inc Feathers Chester

I grabbed Nails Inc Feathers Chester on a whim and I'm so glad I did, what a fun polish! I'm not usually a fan of bar glitters but this one is lovely. The way the bars stack up in the bottle is very satisfying too.

I chose a base color in the same tone and opacity as the glitters but in a different shade, Lime Crime Lavendairy. I think the lavender works great with the matte yellow, orange, and blue glitters. Super cool and easy to apply; great polish!

Sally Hansen Slick Black

Sally Hansen Slick Black is from their Triple Shine collection. It's shown here at 3 coats since it was still quite streaky at 2 which I don't expect from darker shimmer polishes. Slick Black ends up looking like the darkest midnight blue in the nail with flashes of silver, very pretty!
