ORLY Starburst is a milky white jelly polish filled with small red glitter, slightly larger dark orange hex glitter, medium pale gold hex glitter and large white round glitter! The formula was excellent for a polish with so much glitter and I love the idea of this polish but in reality it just didn't quite work for me. While there was no need to fish for large glitters and the polish went on very nicely, the white circles had a tendency to stack on top of each other in tall clumps. I just couldn't get this one to look anything other than lumpy and kind of gross on my nails. It was also a nightmare to remove even at just 2 coats. I was picking off glitter for well over an hour! Cool idea and really good application but this one just isn't for me. I still love the idea of this collection though and there brush handle/cap is my absolute favorite.
Keep up with what I'm reading on Goodreads! Chew is one of my current favorite series!
ORLY Black Hole is a black jelly loaded with medium blue bar glitter, small red hex glitter, medium white hex glitter, and large red and purple circle glitter. It was very easy to apply though I only managed to get a few of the large circle glitters on my nails. I love the layered look you get with the black jelly base and it really does look spacey to me. Super fun polish!
I don't have nearly enough ORLY polish in my stash! I really love their
rubber grippy brush handle and they have lots of fun collections.
I didn't really have a plan for this manicure; I just thought these 2 colors would compliment each other nicely. I used Charlotte Russe Jade & Orly Galaxy Girl, two of my favorite colors. I was hoping that Jade would highlight the gorgeous shimmer in Galaxy Girl. I should have chosen a different way to use them together though. I randomly pulled out a smART Nails sticker stencil and got accidental eggplant nails! Still a pretty color combination.
This is 3 coats of Orly Space Cadet; it definitely needs a 4th coat. Very sheer, but gorgeous duochrome, purple & green foil. I was wearing a red shirt which is reflected in some of the photos. Thanks for reading! April
This is 3 coats of Orly Galaxy Girl, my favorite from the Cosmic FX collection. It's a drop dead gorgeous, dark reddish purple with turquoise glass-fleck. The formula isn't the best. It's sheer yet thick, but worth the extra effort for this beauty. Galaxy Girl is darker than I normally love, but it never looks black because it's always flashing turquoise.
This is 3 coats of Orly Rio nights but I think it could have used a fourth coat. The formula is thin and sheer but still easy to work with. Nice, slightly reddish, purple creme color.
I used my beloved smART Nails stickers for this manicure and I really like the results. I used these before in one of my World Cup manicures. They functioned as gears for that one but here they are a fun twist on the half moon mani. I really want to use these on a sky blue background with a bright yellow for the moon so I can make a sunshine manicure. The accent color for this manicure was L.A. Girl Flare Dark Purple.
These two polishes come from Orly's Once Upon a Time... collection from last fall.
Enchanted Forest is a dark green creme. I thought this shade was going to be a bit lighter than it is. It looked too close to black most of the time on the nail. Still a nice color, just not what I was looking for. Mirror Mirror is a light grey creme, with a slightly blue tone. Here it is against a grey skirt of mine. You can see the blue tone to it better here. This is one of the only polishes that April & I both purchased. Here is April wearing it with Konad plate M63.
I enjoyed this collection from Orly. If I'd had the money I would have bought them all (Minus pixie dust. I love cremes!).
