Zoya Hazel

Zoya Hazel is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

Hazel is an icy steel blue metallic foil that covers great in two coats. This polish catches every little bit of light! Easy to apply as long as you wait a bit between coats. The formula is very similar to Zoya Edyta, almost velvety when being applied. Hazel dries quickly & doesn't need a top coat. A great addition to my collection!

Zoya Liberty

Zoya Liberty is a stunning blue polish from their Summer 2013 Pixie Dust collection.

Zoya PixieDust Special Texture Edition Image

Here's what Zoya has to say about this collection.
Infused with even more magic and wonder! Because everyone wants more of it... The color experts at Zoya went back to the lab and created six more beautiful, long-wearing textured, matte and sparkle Zoya PixieDust Colors for Summer 2013! The incredible and best-selling formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other.

IMPORTANT PixieDust Application Information - Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The PixieDust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!
Zoya Liberty is a fantastic blue polish that makes me think of superheroes! I used my regular base coat, Nail Tek Foundation II & let it dry completely before applying Liberty. Applies easily in 2 coats as long as you wait for each coat to dry before moving to the next one. All of the Pixie Dust polishes wear very well even without top coat & stay truly matte even after the application of hand lotion. I adore them all!

Sation Dating The Duke - The Perfect Turquoise Creme!

This is two easily applied coats of Sation Dating The Duke their Miss Antoinette Spring 2013 collection. It's the most perfectly turquoise polish I've ever used. The formula is great but there were a few bits of unmixed pigment in the bottom of my bottle; this had no effect on application though. I got tons of compliments on this one & I love it!

Zoya Nyx

Zoya Nyx is a textured glitter polish from the Zoya Pixie Dust Collection.

Here's what Zoya has to say about these polishes.
Infused with magic and wonder! The latest "must-have" nail polish finish - textured, matte and sparkling! This newly developed formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other. The color experts at Zoya have created six, long-wearing stunners for the introduction of this enchanting look.

IMPORTANT Pixie Dust Application Information - Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The Pixie Dust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!
I followed the above instructions, no base coat or top coat. Application is very easy as long as you stick with thin coats & make sure to let them dry completely before adding another. Otherwise you'll have some dragging like with most matte polishes. Zoya Nyx needs three coats for full coverage.

This collection is truly spectacular; one of my all time favorites!

My First Flocked Nails!

I know it's spring but it's been gloomy & cold around here so I decided to try my first flocked nails. I got the flocking powder from ebay & used Sation Love Is In The Heir for the base.

Although these are pretty crazy, they were very easy to achieve! You simply add a coat of polish and then add a whole bunch of the flocking powder to your wet nail. I used a pair of tweezers to get a bunch out of the container & then press the powder into the wet polish. I then used a soft brush to get rid of any excess & you're done! Make sure to press the powder in pretty good.

These only lasted for a day or so before they started to look a little worse for the wear but it's easy to do & definitely fun. My nails were like tiny sweaters! Washing my hands was fine as long as I didn't scrub my nails. They look funny for a minute until they dry again.

Layering With Sation Tall Dark & Has Some & Stirring Silver

This is one coat of Sation Stirring Silver topped with a gradient of Sation Tall Dark & Has Some. It's a very unique glitter with medium black circles, tiny turquoise glitter, & large turquoise shards in a clear base. So cool & similar in type to a favorite from last year, Sation Ego Friendly. I love this combination!

Ashley's Favorites! Icing My Blue Heaven

My sister Ashley is the one who got me started wearing nail polish. She has very particular tastes so her polish collection is very small & filled with mostly cremes. She loves every single one of them though & wears them all enough to need backups.
Icing My Blue Heaven is one that I see her wearing often, so I snapped some quick photos. Shown here at two coats.

Sinful Colors Cinderella

This one was on my wishlist for quite some time & it doesn't disappoint. The formula is streaky & thin, it takes 4 coats to reach full opacity, & it takes a long time to dry but I still love it. Gorgeous baby blue with tiny flakies, so pretty! The next time I use it I'll layer it over something so I don't need 4 coats.

Zoya Blu & Zoya Raine New Year's Nails

It was so cold around here on New Year's that I just decided to wear jeans, a black cashmere sweater & my favorite vintage coat. I love the wintry feel of Zoya Blu so I kept it & added a coat of the lovely Zoya Raine for a pearly pink finish. Gorgeous combination! My nails looked like pulled taffy. I needed some bling & drama for my plain outfit so I added lots of black rhinestones to my middle fingers. Success!

Zoya Frida

This is the beautiful Zoya Frida from their NYFW 2012 Gloss Collection, a sheer, dark, warm-toned teal blue with a buildable jelly gloss finish. all of the polishes from this set work better with thick coats. The formula is a bit streaky & sticky but it's so unique & gorgeous that I think it's worth a bit of extra fuss. Shown here at 3 thin coats before I figured out that thick coats were easier.
