Zoya Kerry

Zoya Kerry is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

I've never seen a yellow metallic like Zoya Kerry! Shown here at three coats with no top coat. (I rarely use top coat on metallic polishes since they just don't seem to need it) Kerry catches every lit bit of light & reflects it back, making this polish practically glow even in low light. A gorgeous new favorite for sure!!

Abstract Christmas Nails With JENsations JEWEL Tones & LAQA & CO Chubs

Today we have a unique & lovely polish from indie brand JENsations. Here's what she has to say about her products.

★ All of my custom blended polishes are made with a special 3-free base [Toluene, Formaldehyde & Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) Free] that will suspend glitter [glitter won't all fall to the bottom].

★ All glitters used are solvent resistant [glitter won't bleed into polish]. On rare occasion I use a bleeding glitter on purpose to get the perfect shade of base, but it will be noted.

★ All polishes come inside a unique star shaped bottle. 10 ml in size. Contrary to popular believe they are easy to store.

★ Each bottle contains two stainless steel ball bearings [they will not rust or affect your polish] for easy shaking. Pigments & glitters tend to settle over time so please shake gently =)

★ Each bottle is custom made with my very own two hands so there may be a slight variation in each bottle.
I've found all of these statements to be true! This is one easily applied coat of  JENsations Jewel Tones worn over LAQA & CO Chubs. Jewel Tones is large red hex glitter & medium green & purple hex glitter in a clear base with a truly outstanding formula. No need to fish for glitter in the bottle & brushes on in one nice thin coat.

LAQA & CO Chubs

This is two coats of LAQA & Co Chubs. I hate the name but I love the polish. Chubs is a light gold foil that applies easily & dries fast. Metallic foils are one of my favorite finishes. Colors like this are great for vacations since they go with everything. I wore this one for almost a week which I never do. Great polish & gorgeous packaging too!

American Apparel Buried Treasure Nails

Glitter gradients are my favorite easy way to get fancy nails in a hurry. I love how this one turned out! I used American Apparel Pacific Beach & Meteor Shower.
I decided these nails reminded me of buried pirate treasure & I thought it might be cool to add a coat of American Apparel Pacific Beach on top of the glitter for a more pronounced underwater effect. I scratched it off in a couple of spots to let the gold shine through. These sheer polishes are so fun!

Sation Pyramid Princess

Sation bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website. Sation has just released a limited edition collection called Class of Sation, available now.
Sation Pyramid Princess is a crazy glitter, gold micro glitter, small red, green, gold & purple bar glitter, small green & purple glitter, & red & turquoise medium glitter!! Whew! Only two coats & no need to go fishing for any of the glitter. Easy application & unique polish! I finally tried the foil method for removal & it worked like a charm! Helps so much with glitter polishes.

Sation Silver Frost & American Apparel Meteor Shower

I couldn't wait to use American Apparel Meteor Shower again. Meteor Shower is irregular shards of gold foil or mylar in a clear base. I didn't have much trouble with application but you do have to push down the larger pieces to get them to lay flat.
I'm wearing two coats of American Apparel Meteor Shower over 2 coats of Sation Silver Frost in these photos. I followed up with 2 coats of topcoat just to make sure all of the edges were well stuck down. I love the frosty white & gold combination!

I love American Apparel polishes & I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. Meteor Shower is irregular shards of gold foil or mylar in a clear base. I didn't have much trouble with application but you do have to push down the larger pieces to get them to lay flat.

Juicy Couture Gold Glitter & Revlon Powder Puff

I posted a preview of the Juicy Couture Glitters last week & this is my first full manicure using the Gold Glitter. I started with 3 coats of the gorgeous but difficult Revlon Powder Puff. Then just one layer of Juicy Couture Gold Glitter, a clear polish with medium hexagon glitter & occasional foil hearts.
Gold Glitter is super easy to apply and I even got a few hearts without having to fish them out. I've always thought that glitters like this were kind of a pain to apply but the application  for this one was superb.
I'm not a huge glitter fan and I would never have gotten this for myself, but I really love it! Thanks again to Midnight Manicures for this prize!

The next night I added a coat of China Glaze Matte Magic.

Disney Hidden Mickey Leopard Nails

This manicure was inspired by the carpet at our hotel when I visited Disney World. We stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and it was spectacular! The parks and hotels are filled with "hidden Mickeys" like the ones in this leopard print carpet.

I didn't have the same polish colors. I chose Maybelline Gold Aluminum for the base and then used my dotting tools and Essie Little Brown Dress for the spots. Here's a shot with an old talking Mickey toy that I've had for as long as I can remember!

We all went on the Wild Africa Trek at the Animal Kingdom. So much fun!

I look like a giant in this next shot!

OPI Up Front & Personal

I won OPI Up Front & Personal from the Lacquer Lady's giveaway. It's a lovely champagne foil/glitter color. 4 coats. Still sheer but very pretty.

Woohoo USA!!!!! That was a very stressful game! So glad we made it through even though we had not one but TWO disallowed goals this cup that should have been counted!

Today's World Cup hotties are the Socceroos of Australia who played hard but were eliminated today. Special mention for Harry Kewell who couldn't play today because of a red card & Tim Cahill who was today's man of the match.

Maybelline Gold Aluminum

This is one of the four Maybelline polishes up for grabs in our giveaway! There are now links to the other three on the giveaway post. This was very easy to apply after a couple of drops of thinner. I could get away with one coat if I was careful. I actually like this gold with my skintone and this polish works great with Konad!
Don't forget to enter our Melvita Organic Skin Care giveaway & the $70 CSN Stores giveaway too!

Orgasm Slipery Slope (Most Embarrasing Nail Polish Name Ever)

Seriously, DO NOT do a Google image search for this one ladies! Especially at work!
This very pretty yellow gold. Not a color i like with my skintone though. You do have to be careful of brushstrokes, but the nice brush and formula make that pretty easy to do. I ended up with an almost smooth super metallic finish. This is 3 coats.
