American Apparel Sheer Nail Art Inspired By Nailside!

I was inspired by the always amazing Nailside & her Abstract 80's nails for this manicure. I started with a base of American Apparel Summerland Beach, then used tape to add Redondo Beach & finally triangles of Zuma Beach. I love this one so much!!

My Second American Apparel Sheer Gradient

The American Apparel Sheer collection is very fun to play with. I decided to do another gradient like this one. Here I used Zuma Beach & just added a few strokes of Pacific Beach. Super easy, impossible to mess up & I love the results!

American Apparel Zuma Beach

I love American Apparel polishes! They recently released a new collection of Sheers & they are drop dead gorgeous! This just might be my new favorite collection ever. The sheer collection contains 6 buildable jelly polishes that are super pigmented & apply very easily. Some are a bit streaky on the first coat but all of them are lovely by 2 thick coats or 3 thin coats. These are really great for all sorts of nail art & the colors are beautiful. They dry a bit matte so I definitely recommend a top coat for that squishy jelly finish. These polishes can be ordered from the American Apparel website for $6.

Zuma Beach is the last of this collection & I love it just as much as all of the others. It's a perfect lime green jelly. This is truly a spectacular collection! I really loved this color with my orange & yellow outfit.

Summerland Beach is the most opaque polish from this collection but definitely still a jelly. I don't have anything like it in my collection & I truly adore it! Another new favorite; this might even make it into the top #10. It looks fresh & clean & goes with everything!

American Apparel Buried Treasure Nails

Glitter gradients are my favorite easy way to get fancy nails in a hurry. I love how this one turned out! I used American Apparel Pacific Beach & Meteor Shower.
I decided these nails reminded me of buried pirate treasure & I thought it might be cool to add a coat of American Apparel Pacific Beach on top of the glitter for a more pronounced underwater effect. I scratched it off in a couple of spots to let the gold shine through. These sheer polishes are so fun!

First up we have American Apparel Sheer Manhattan Beach shown here at 3 coats. This one was streaky at one coat but turns into the most lovely dark indigo by the third coat. I love this one so much, sexy & unique!

Sation Silver Frost & American Apparel Meteor Shower

I couldn't wait to use American Apparel Meteor Shower again. Meteor Shower is irregular shards of gold foil or mylar in a clear base. I didn't have much trouble with application but you do have to push down the larger pieces to get them to lay flat.
I'm wearing two coats of American Apparel Meteor Shower over 2 coats of Sation Silver Frost in these photos. I followed up with 2 coats of topcoat just to make sure all of the edges were well stuck down. I love the frosty white & gold combination!
