Zoya Amy

Zoya Amy is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

Zoya Amy is a an amazing fiery orange metallic foil that covers in two coats. The formula is almost velvety & goes on very nicely. Amy is extremely eye catching; it almost seems to glow! Shown here with no top coat since I find foils don't seem to need them. It also dries quickly & is easily removed. Great polish!

Zoya Beatrix

Zoya Beatrix is a spectacular polish from the Summer 2013 Pixie Dust collection.

Zoya PixieDust Special Texture Edition Image

Here's what Zoya has to say about this collection.
Infused with even more magic and wonder! Because everyone wants more of it... The color experts at Zoya went back to the lab and created six more beautiful, long-wearing textured, matte and sparkle Zoya PixieDust Colors for Summer 2013! The incredible and best-selling formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other.

IMPORTANT PixieDust Application Information - Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The PixieDust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!
I love that Zoya has so many orange polishes in this year's summer collections! Zoya Beatrix is bright, crisp true orange that looks pretty in two coats but even more vibrant with three. Application is very easy as long as you make sure to wait for each coat to dry before applying the next to avoid dragging. I love all of the Pixie Dust polishes!!

Zoya Destiny looks like super fizzy orange pop magically transformed into a gorgeous & totally unique nail polish! Or maybe a gumdrop coated with orange & gold sparkly sugar. This will be the perfect summer pedicure polish, since the Pixie Dust polishes are very long wearing. I really can't gush enough; I love Zoya Destiny!

I used my regular base coat Nail Tek Foundation II this time just to see if it adversely affected the finish. I let it dry completely before applying Destiny & noticed no change in the finish. Destiny looks good after two coats but I think it looks even more vibrant with three. Application is very easy as long as you make sure to wait for each coat to dry before applying the next to avoid dragging.

Julep Parker

Julep Parker is a lovely orange sherbert creme. Shown here at two coats but I think I could have used a third. I love orange but not all of them look great with my skintone. I'm passing this one onto a friend who's been looking for just this color.

Sation Sun Worship-Her

Sation bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes & they are priced at just $5. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website. Here we have Sation Sun Worship-Her from their fall collection, Little Horse On The Prairie.

Sation Sun Worship-Her is a superb red orange jelly polish. Shown here at just one perfectly formulated coat! Great for days when you're in a hurry since it dries fast and looks amazing after one coat. One of the best formula in my entire collection. I really can't say enough good things about this one. Just get it!

I read A LOT! You can check out my favorite books at Goodreads.

Lime Crime Peaches Cream & Stripes Inspired By Caitlin's Creative Corner

Lime Crime has released their first nail polish collection & they've done quite a good job. The packaging is fabulous, full of purple, glitter & unicorns. I love the bottle shape & the brushes are a bit wider than most which I always prefer. The collection, called Les Desserts d'Antoinette, contains a rainbow of pastel shades & an off white. The formulas were all a little on the thick side & work much better with thick, as opposed to thin coats. Overall a very good first polish offering! Here's what Lime Crime has to say about their polishes.
7 pastel shades, inspired by confectionery delights from Marie Antoinette's table. Recklessly pigmented crème formula is rich, smooth and opaque in just two coats. Each bottle comes equipped with a flat, wide brush for superb control and flawless application. Never tested on animals. 3-Free.

Lime Crime Peaches Cream is a pretty orange sherbet polish. I don't know if it looks good with my skin, but I don't care; I love it! Shown here at 2 coats.

The next day I decided to add some stripes inspired by this manicure from Caitlin's Creative Corner. Mine are a bit simpler than hers but I love how they turned out! I used Lime Crime Crema de Limon for the stripes. Pretty impressive that a yellow polish can cover in just one coat. I'll definitely be using it for more nail art in the future.

American Apparel Sheer Manhattan Beach

I love American Apparel polishes! They recently released a new collection of Sheers & they are drop dead gorgeous! This just might be my new favorite collection ever. The sheer collection contains 6 buildable jelly polishes that are super pigmented & apply very easily. Some are a bit streaky on the first coat but all of them are lovely by 2 thick coats or 3 thin coats. These are really great for all sorts of nail art & the colors are beautiful. They dry a bit matte so I definitely recommend a top coat for that squishy jelly finish. These polishes can be ordered from the American Apparel website for $6. I'll be showing the whole collection over the next week or so.
American Apparel Manhattan Beach is a fantastic orange coral jelly shown here at 3 coats. So pretty!

Sation Show Off Your Navel Orange & A Gradient

Sation bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website. Sation has just released their first limited edition collection, California Gleamin', available now.

Sation Show Off Your Your Navel Orange is super bright, much brighter than I could capture with my camera. My friend saw it, said "Whoa! It's like fluorescent melon!" It's got a bit of shimmer & dries matte, like most neons do. The formula was pretty good for a neon as long as you wait a few minutes between coats. This is a fun color but I've never been a big fan of neons so I think I'll pass it on to friend who loves them.

The next night I added a sponged gradient with the lovely Zoya Caitlin. Pretty fun & unexpected color combination!

Zoya Myrta

Zoya Myrta is accurately described as a "warm medium orange coral with red undertone, gold and silver metallic shimmer, and a foil-like finish." The formula is very similar to Zoya Edyta, almost like liquid velvet & you need to wait a minute or two between coats. This is 2 easily applied coats.

Myrta is a perfect match for the lasers in my silly but beloved t-shirt, Mr Mitten's Big Adventure!

Zoya Arizona, A New Favorite!

I couldn't wait to try Zoya Arizona from the Beach Collection. I only have a few orange polishes & this one is a new favorite. I'll be wearing Arizona on my toes a lot in the coming months!
Zoya does an excellent job of describing their polishes; Arizona is a "softened bright citrus orange with a muted cream finish. This orange is bright but also very soft, giving it a fun, orange sherbet-like look on the nails." I heartily agree. The formula is excellent & is shown here at 2 easily applied coats. Gorgeous & perfect for spring & summer!

The formula on all the ones I've tried is excellent. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website.

Here we have the gorgeous Sation heather, a hot orange based coral with just a hint of shimmer. Two coats and excellent formula again. This will be on my toes a lot in the coming months; I love it!

Essie Brazilliant

This is 3 coats of Essie Brazilliant from their summer 2011 collection. Super bright, but not neon orange with a barely visible pink micro-shimmer. I kind of hate Essie's tiny brush, but that is a personal preference. The formula was a little thick but still manageable.

Not a color I'll be reaching for often but it's staying in my stash since I don't have very many orange polishes.

Disney World Nemo Nails

I really wanted to do some nails inspired by my recent vacation but I wasn't quite sure what to do until I saw this post from the incredibly talented Leslie of Nail Polish Art Addiction. I am constantly amazed by her skills and the unique, clever designs she comes up with. Thanks for the idea!

I had the songs from Nemo: The Musical stuck in my head for days. I'm not very skilled with a brush so I just did the clown fish stripes as an accent nail and I love it!

I used American Apparel Poppy (great formula!) as a base and the white polish from my French Tip Dip Kit. I used Tic Tac Black and a skinny nail art brush too.
