Zoya Cole

Zoya Cole is from their Awaken collection for Spring 2014.
Zoya Cole was originally released as Stella for Peter Som's NYFW SS14 . Cole is shown here at 3 difficult to apply coats. I tried this application method recommended by Zoya for pastel cremes & whites. I used a thin coat, a medium coat, & one final thin coat, but still had troubles. The formula is sticky and doesn't self level. The peach color doesn't suit me either. I'll be passing this one along to a friend. So far I'm 0-for-2 with the Awaken collection. Still looking forward to trying the ones that look like they'll have a similar finish to Edyta though.

China Glaze Roguish Red

China Glaze Roguish Red is from their 2012 Wicked Halloween Collection. I would call this a red orange creme & classify it as an orange. Gorgeous color & fantastic formula. Nothing unique, but I love it!

Now for a short digression about my home town & Batman! I love to read & I've always been a huge fan of superheroes & graphic novels. I picked up Batman Death By Design & was admiring the beautiful building depicted in the drawings below. Suddenly it hit me that the beautiful building is modeled after my favorite art deco building right here in Tulsa, Boston Avenue Methodist Church.

Zoya Dhara

Zoya Dhara is from the new Pixie Dust Fall 2013 collection. My regular readers know I LOVE the Zoya Pixie Dust polishes & I couldn't be happier with this new set! Here's what Zoya has to say about them.

Infused with even more magic and wonder! Because everyone wants more of it... The color experts at Zoya went back to the lab and created six more beautiful, long-wearing textured, matte and sparkle Zoya PixieDust Colors for Fall 2013! The incredible and best-selling formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other.

IMPORTANT PixieDust Application Information - Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The PixieDust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!
Zoya Dhara is a vibrant blood orange with fantastic coverage. I think you could get away with just one coat if you are careful. Great formula, beautiful color, another all around winner from Zoya & a new favorite for me!

Jordana Orangesicle

I recently won one of Jordana's facebook giveaways that included Orangesicle. I've never tired any of their products before but I do like this polish. Nothing revolutionary here but Jordana Orangesicle is a fantastic hot orange creme that's perfect for summer. shown here at 3 coats with a formula that is just fine especially for the $1.99 price tag!

Zoya Thandie

Zoya Thandie is from their Summer 2013 Stunning Collection.

Zoya Thandie is shown here at 3 coats. The formula seemed a bit off , a bit streaky & kind of sticky. I normally love Zoya polishes & I love Rocky, Darcy & Josie from this collection but I think you can skip the pinks & the orange this time because there are options for these colors with better formulas.

Zoya Amy

Zoya Amy is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

Zoya Amy is a an amazing fiery orange metallic foil that covers in two coats. The formula is almost velvety & goes on very nicely. Amy is extremely eye catching; it almost seems to glow! Shown here with no top coat since I find foils don't seem to need them. It also dries quickly & is easily removed. Great polish!

I love that Zoya has so many orange polishes in this year's summer collections! Zoya Beatrix is bright, crisp true orange that looks pretty in two coats but even more vibrant with three. Application is very easy as long as you make sure to wait for each coat to dry before applying the next to avoid dragging. I love all of the Pixie Dust polishes!!

Zoya Destiny looks like super fizzy orange pop magically transformed into a gorgeous & totally unique nail polish! Or maybe a gumdrop coated with orange & gold sparkly sugar. This will be the perfect summer pedicure polish, since the Pixie Dust polishes are very long wearing. I really can't gush enough; I love Zoya Destiny!

I used my regular base coat Nail Tek Foundation II this time just to see if it adversely affected the finish. I let it dry completely before applying Destiny & noticed no change in the finish. Destiny looks good after two coats but I think it looks even more vibrant with three. Application is very easy as long as you make sure to wait for each coat to dry before applying the next to avoid dragging.

Julep Parker

Julep Parker is a lovely orange sherbert creme. Shown here at two coats but I think I could have used a third. I love orange but not all of them look great with my skintone. I'm passing this one onto a friend who's been looking for just this color.

Sation Sun Worship-Her

Sation bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes & they are priced at just $5. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website. Here we have Sation Sun Worship-Her from their fall collection, Little Horse On The Prairie.

Sation Sun Worship-Her is a superb red orange jelly polish. Shown here at just one perfectly formulated coat! Great for days when you're in a hurry since it dries fast and looks amazing after one coat. One of the best formula in my entire collection. I really can't say enough good things about this one. Just get it!

I read A LOT! You can check out my favorite books at Goodreads.

Lime Crime Peaches Cream & Stripes Inspired By Caitlin's Creative Corner

Lime Crime has released their first nail polish collection & they've done quite a good job. The packaging is fabulous, full of purple, glitter & unicorns. I love the bottle shape & the brushes are a bit wider than most which I always prefer. The collection, called Les Desserts d'Antoinette, contains a rainbow of pastel shades & an off white.  The formulas were all a little on the thick side & work much better with thick, as opposed to thin coats. Overall a very good first polish offering! Here's what Lime Crime has to say about their polishes.
7 pastel shades, inspired by confectionery delights from Marie Antoinette's table. Recklessly pigmented crème formula is rich, smooth and opaque in just two coats. Each bottle comes equipped with a flat, wide brush for superb control and flawless application. Never tested on animals. 3-Free.

Lime Crime Peaches Cream is a pretty orange sherbet polish. I don't know if it looks good with my skin, but I don't care; I love it! Shown here at 2 coats.

The next day I decided to add some stripes inspired by this manicure from Caitlin's Creative Corner. Mine are a bit simpler than hers but I love how they turned out! I used Lime Crime Crema de Limon for the stripes. Pretty impressive that a yellow polish can cover in just one coat. I'll definitely be using it for more nail art in the future.

American Apparel Sheer Manhattan Beach

I love American Apparel polishes! They recently released a new collection of Sheers & they are drop dead gorgeous! This just might be my new favorite collection ever. The sheer collection contains 6 buildable jelly polishes that are super pigmented & apply very easily. Some are a bit streaky on the first coat but all of them are lovely by 2 thick coats or 3 thin coats. These are really great for all sorts of nail art & the colors are beautiful. They dry a bit matte so I definitely recommend a top coat for that squishy jelly finish. These polishes can be ordered from the American Apparel website for $6. I'll be showing the whole collection over the next week or so.
American Apparel Manhattan Beach is a fantastic orange coral jelly shown here at 3 coats. So pretty!
