Milani Ready To Wear Red

This is an older Milani but it sure is great! Milani Ready To Wear Red barely needs a second coat, really great formula! Truly fantastic shade of red too, maybe a shade or two lighter than blood red with lots of depth. Definitely a keeper!

OPI Midnight In Moscow

OPI Midnight In Moscow was originally part of their Fall 2007 Russian collection but has since been added to their Classics line with good reason!

OPI Midnight In Moscow is so fun; it looks like liquid vampires! It's a sheer charcoal jam-packed with brick red micro shimmer. The first coat is streaky but as soon as you start the second coat everything turns rich and glossy and magical. I love OPI's wide brushes too so this one really was a pleasure to apply. I don't usually go for dark, vampy colors but Midnight In Moscow is simply fantastic!
In artificial light so you can see the shimmer.

Rouge Louboutin

My wonderful sister, Alisa, got this for me for Christmas since she knew I would never get it for myself. She said I should definitely have it for my collection though and I certainly can't argue!
Rouge Louboutin clocks in at $50 a bottle and I have to say I think it's worth the price if you love beautiful packaging and nice red creme polish. The bottle and brush are around 8" tall and make a big statement! Truly perfect faceted bottle with ombre red to black coloring and a long spiky handle. Just looking at it makes me happy and I think you could use it as a weapon in a pinch!
Rouge Louboutin is a one coat wonder that practically applies itself. The long tapered handle is a pleasure to use and the color is a nicely balanced red that will look great on most anyone. I love it! Thanks Alisa!

Revlon Spice It Up

Revlon Spice It Up is from their 2011 Spice It Up collection. I don't usually go for vampy polishes but there's just something about this one that I really love. Revlon Spice It Up is a deep brick red with copper micro shimmer that applies easily in 2 coats. Gorgeous!

Zoya Oswin

Zoya Oswin is from their Ultra Pixie Dust Collection.
Zoya Oswin didn't have the same problems as Noir and Arianna from the same set. It dried to a nicely textured matte finish. Very pretty polish that has been discontinued but is still currently available so get one now if you like it!

Milani Blackberry Baby

Milani Blackberry Baby is a blackened burgundy shimmer polish shown here at 2 coats. IT has excellent coverage and you could almost get away worth just one but you have to be very careful of brushstrokes.I really don't like Milani's super skinny brush but that is just a matter of personal preference. Blackberry Baby is a very pretty polish but the brushstrokey finish feels a bit dated to me and it's just not my style.

CoverGirl Lingering Spice

I've never tried a CoverGirl polish and it looks like they aren't currently producing any according to their website. I got this one from a friend and decided to give it a try anyway. This is CoverGirl Lingering Spice, what a great name! I love square and rectangular bottles but I really hate the square cap/brush handle. When you wipe off excess polish on your brush you also flatten it out a bit and I kept having to hold the cap awkwardly to get the flat side onto my nail. This was a deal-breaker for me even though the polish itself is pretty and the formula was good. Not special enough to be worth the hassle though since I have lots of polishes in this color family.

Zoya Arianna

Looks like Zoya's press samples for their Ultra Pixie Dust collection had some issues so this post isn't representative of what you can purchase at Ulta or from Zoya. For an accurate representation please check out this great post from Lavish Layerings!
Zoya Arianna is from their Ultra Pixie Dust Collection.
Zoya Arianna is a wine colored Pixie Dust polish with red hex glitter. My bottle didn't look much like a Pixie Dust simply because it doesn't seem to have nearly enough of the Pixie Dust particles, allowing the jelly base color to show quite a bit and causing a strange finish that never dried matte. I love the color so I might have to go purchase a retail version since I love the Pixie Dust polishes so much.

Zoya Teigen And India: A Nail Art Comparison

I've only done a handful of comparisons so far but I like this on the nail style. Here we have Zoya Teigen and India. I started with a base of Teigen and then added the chevron french tip in Zoya India. Both lovely colors!
I am a voracious reader. You can check out what I'm reading on my Goodreads profile!

Zoya Margo

Zoya Margo is from their Fall 2014 Entice Collection.

Zoya Margo is a gorgeous red leaning plum polish that applies easily in just 2 coats. Margo is definitely my favorite from this collection and a perfect color for the transition from summer to fall. So rich and beautiful and will look lovely on a wide range of skin tones!

Zoya Harlow

Zoya Harlow is from their Matte Velvet collection!
Zoya Harlow has the most metallic look of all of the polishes in this collection with a truly gorgeous brushed aluminum finish in a rich plum color. Many mattes show brushstrokes and have dragging issues when applying but Harlow applied very nicely. Shown here in 2 easily applied coats, one thin and one a bit thicker. Zoya Harlow also dries super fast so you can get out the door in a hurry.
This collection is meant to be worn without base or top coat to get that super matte finish so the wear time isn't as long as a regular manicure. Harlow showed tip wear faster than any of the other polishes in this set (in less than 24 hours) and might be best used as a special occasion polish. On the other hand I was able to easily fix my manicure with an additional thin coat just on the nails that needed it. it looked great again in just a few minutes which isn't the case when trying to fix a polish with a creme finish. For me the trade off is well worth it!
