Zoya Wendy

Zoya Wendy is my favorite from the Tickled Summer 2014 collection! It's a bright pink with strong coral leanings that I absolutely love! Great formula that covers in just 2 coats and made me happy every time I looked at it. My boyfriend Will also loves it & immediately used it for his toes. It looked darn good on him too! I took a ton of pictures of this beauty including a few of my adorable dog Wally & a shot with my beloved Rockport loafers. Wendy is an EXACT match for the chain detail on them!

Drowning In Pictures: Seeking Oganization & Online Storage Advice

I take lots of photos. For my blog, for my concrete & just generally to document my lovely life. (I only have a handful of pictures from my 20's!) Because of this I have hundreds of unedited photos sitting on my computer waiting for my attention. Every few months I try to tackle the backlog. I manage to go though & get rid ones that are obviously poor quality or uninteresting but that's about it. I have some organization on my hard drive but it's not perfect. The pictures I have online are scattered across different sites & a complete mess.

I bet many of my readers & fellow bloggers have tons of pictures too. How do you manage your photos? Do you store them online? All suggestions welcome!  Here's a few photos of Wally, Will & me just so this post isn't totally boring.

Zoya Natty

Zoya Natty, from their Fall 2012 NYFW Designer Collection, is a smoky deep steel blue with an opaque cream finish. It's a gorgeous color & I got lots of compliments on this one. My sister Ashley loves it too & she's picky! Shown here at two easily applied coats. My dog Wally got in on this one. He's so cute!

Fab Lab Tulsa Halloween!

Fab Lab Tulsa is a non-profit entity that has collaborated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to assemble a diverse collection of state-of-the-art equipment and computers into a community workspace. For a small fee I have access to a 3D printer, vinyl cutter, laser cutter & a ShopBot!! I was able to use the Fab Lab for three fun Halloween projects: a "Bat Mobile", a shadow caster & a some concrete stepping stones.

I saw this cute bat mobile project on Martha Stewart's site & decided to make my own version. I love Batman so I used different Batman logos throughout the years. The bats were cut from card stock on the laser cutter.
My favorite bat!

This post inspired me to make a shadow caster of my own. He's scary! I cut him on the laser cutter too.

The ShopBot is the machine that I've been most excited about at the Fab Lab. It's a CNC router that can handle material up to 8' x 4'. I needed a fun, stress-free project to get started with the ShopBot & settled on using it to make foam molds for concrete stepping stones. The ShopBot is actually fairly simple to use & our foam turned out great! Here's a video!

The pink skull is the positive & we used the leftover for our mold. I think we'll paint the foam skull & use it for decorations. We also made a ghost, black cat, Frankenstein, & stabbing hand!

Thanks for reading & Happy Halloween from April, Will, & Wally!

Sation I Paint In Peace

Sation bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes & they are priced at just $5. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website. Here we have Sation I Paint In Peace from their fall collection, Nailstock.

If you haven't tried the new Sations, you are really missing out. Great value & they now have a huge selection of colors. So many beautiful blues & greens & they just released 24 new glitter polishes! I'll have a sneak peek at six of those soon.

Sation I Paint In Peace is just a terrific polish. Gorgeous pine green with a hint of shimmer. Fantastic formula that barely needs two coats. This beauty reminds me of my trip to the U.S. Bureau of Engraving & Printing  in fifth grade. (HA! Their website is moneyfactory.gov)I'll never forget staring down into the big 50 gallon drums of green money ink!
Wally likes to sit in the sun with me.

American Apparel Sheer Redondo Beach

I love American Apparel polishes! They recently released a new collection of Sheers & they are drop dead gorgeous! This just might be my new favorite collection ever. The sheer collection contains 6 buildable jelly polishes that are super pigmented & apply very easily. Some are a bit streaky on the first coat but all of them are lovely by 2 thick coats or 3 thin coats. These are really great for all sorts of nail art & the colors are beautiful. They dry a bit matte so I definitely recommend a top coat for that squishy jelly finish. These polishes can be ordered from the American Apparel website for $6.
Redondo Beach is just unbelievably gorgeous! I love blue polishes & I've never seen anything like this one. Another new favorite!

Sation Sporty Kar Red

Sation bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes. The formula on all the ones I've tried is excellent. You can purchase Sation's Big 3 Free polishes at their website.

Sation Sporty Kar Red is a lovely true red with a finish somewhere between a creme & a jelly. Shown here at just two easily applied coats. I hated red polish when I first started painting my nails a few years ago, but now I know there is no denying the appeal of classic red nails.

My adorable Wally!

Sation Overdressed Party & Violet Flare

Sation recently updated their brand & bottles & I have a few of their new polishes to show you. The bottles are oval with thick glass bottoms. The new brushes are great for ladies like me that love wide brushes. The formula on all the ones I've tried is excellent. Neither of these polishes are colors I would normally pick up on my own, but I'm so glad that I got the chance to try them. I really love them both!

Overdressed Party is a super bright, red-leaning coral jelly. I love jelly polishes ( I think they look very modern) but have very few in my collection. Amazing coverage in two very easily applied coats. This is a very fun polish that I know I'll be wearing again, especially this summer!

Violet Flare is a deep, rich fuschia jelly with microshimmer.  It's truly stunning. Once again superb coverage in just two coats. Here are some shots in full sun & in the shade & with my dog Wally! He has his own tag if you'd like to see more of his adorable face.

Next up I'll have my second Valentine's Day manicure of the year featuring these two pretty polishes. Thanks for reading!

Wally Says Happy Holidays & My Go To Polish For The Holidays

My dog Wally, says Happy Holidays to all of my lovely readers. He's wearing his adorable Sherlock Holmes style coat just for you! Wally is my first dog and he was rescued from the streets. I had no idea I could love a little creature so much!
Zoya Edyta is my favorite polish for this busy time of the year. I can easily get away with one coat and it's drop dead gorgeous!
