Zoya Amy

Zoya Amy is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

Zoya Amy is a an amazing fiery orange metallic foil that covers in two coats. The formula is almost velvety & goes on very nicely. Amy is extremely eye catching; it almost seems to glow! Shown here with no top coat since I find foils don't seem to need them. It also dries quickly & is easily removed. Great polish!

Iron Man Nails!

I love comic books, graphic novels, & all things superhero. My dad, Ashley, & I all went to see Iron Man 3 this afternoon at the IMAX theater. It was lots of fun & Ashley suggested that I do my some Iron Man nails. I think they turned out pretty good!

I used two polishes from Zoya's Irresistible collection of super light reflecting foils which are perfect for superhero nails! I used Zoya Hazel for his eyes & the arc reactor & Zoya Kerry for his face. Sadly I passed Zoya Kym onto a friend years ago back when I didn't like red polish; it would have been perfect. I used Sally Hansen nail art pens in red & black for the rest. I can't get over how amazing Zoya Kerry is, look at that glow! (This is my First ever GIF! I used GIFninja, recommended to me by Lifehacker.)

Zoya Kerry

Zoya Kerry is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

I've never seen a yellow metallic like Zoya Kerry! Shown here at three coats with no top coat. (I rarely use top coat on metallic polishes since they just don't seem to need it) Kerry catches every lit bit of light & reflects it back, making this polish practically glow even in low light. A gorgeous new favorite for sure!!

Zoya Hazel

Zoya Hazel is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection.

Hazel is an icy steel blue metallic foil that covers great in two coats. This polish catches every little bit of light! Easy to apply as long as you wait a bit between coats. The formula is very similar to Zoya Edyta, almost velvety when being applied. Hazel dries quickly & doesn't need a top coat. A great addition to my collection!

LAQA & CO Chubs

This is two coats of LAQA & Co Chubs. I hate the name but I love the polish. Chubs is a light gold foil that applies easily & dries fast. Metallic foils are one of my favorite finishes. Colors like this are great for vacations since they go with everything. I wore this one for almost a week which I never do. Great polish & gorgeous packaging too!

Zoya Zuza

This is 2 coats of the beautiful Zoya Zuza. It's a "deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish." Truly lovely & a nice formula much like Zoya Edyta so you'll need to wait a couple of minutes before adding a second coat.

Zoya Rory & A Rather Boring Gradient

This is 2 coats of Zoya Rory, a "medium mauve pink with lilac tones, gold and silver reflective metallic shimmer accents, and a foil-like finish." The formula is just like Zoya Edyta & you'll need to wait a few minutes between coats. I"m passing this one to a friend as I just don't like the way it looks with my skin tone.
The next day I was feeling uninspired so I tried one of my favorite easy techniques & applied a quick sponge gradient with Zoya Carly. The results were just kind of blah & I looked for another color to stamp on top but nothing quite worked out. Not a bad manicure, just kind of boring.

Zoya Myrta

Zoya Myrta is accurately described as a "warm medium orange coral with red undertone, gold and silver metallic shimmer, and a foil-like finish." The formula is very similar to Zoya Edyta, almost like liquid velvet & you need to wait a minute or two between coats. This is 2 easily applied coats.

Myrta is a perfect match for the lasers in my silly but beloved t-shirt, Mr Mitten's Big Adventure!

Zoya Meg & Flakies

Zoya Meg is correctly described by Zoya as a "light yellow-toned mermaid green with heavy gold and silver metallic shimmer and a sparkling foil finish." I found this to be the same color as the lovely Zoya Apple but with the addition of silver in a foil finish as opposed to Apple's strictly gold shimmer.Nice formula & only 2 coats as opposed to 3 needed for Apple, however I think I slightly prefer Apple & will be passing Meg on to a lucky friend.

I decided to take a picture with my awesome Medusa toy by Todd McFarlane. Don;t look into her eyes!
I thought Zoya Chloe would look pretty layered over Meg so I gave it a try, very pretty.

Zoya Kimber

Zoya Kimber is a new favorite even though I'm not normally a big pink fan. It's a bit like a more berry toned version of China Glaze Strawberry Fields. I really failed to capture the magic of this gorgeous polish with these photos & I'll have to try again someday.
Once again Zoya nails the description & describes Kimber as a "rich, bright and saturated medium magenta pink with strong gold metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish. A huge hit of color and a shot of shiny gold metal make this polish look electric." The formula is excellent & I could almost get away with just one coat. Kimber will be living on my toes a lot this spring & summer!

My Second Accidental Eggplant Manicure

Somehow this is the second time I've accidentally made my nails look like eggplants! Here's the first time if you're curious. I was trying to do a completely different manicure this time but I messed it up. I decided to try and fix it with my favorite easy nail art. By the time I was on the second finger I realized that I'd done it again, accidental eggplant!

I used Zoya Carly for the base & Zoya Apple for the tips.

Zoya Carly

Zoya Carly isn't a color I was immediately drawn to but that changed when I started applying it. The formula is a superb one coat wonder that reminds me of one of my all time favorites, Edyta.

Zoya describes this one better than I ever could, "a very rich, bold, red-toned dark purple with iridescent red and silver metallic shimmer and a dense foil finish." It's much more beautiful in person & the formula makes this one a stand out for me. I'm always on the look out for one coat wonders!

Carly goes perfectly with one of my favorite dresses too.

Wet n Wild Teal Of Fortune & Simple Nail Art

This is 3 coats of Wet N Wild Teal of Fortune. Nice formula but I really don't like the brush on this one. It just seems like a big mop. Very pretty turquoise jelly base with turquoise and maybe gold foil particles.
The next day I did some quick simple nail art. I'm not in love with my color choices but you do get to see both hands! I used The gorgeous China Glaze Stellar & Petites Raspberry Ice for the dots.
