Glitter Gradient With Zoya

Zoya Monet has been a surprise favorite polish for me this year. I've never really been a huge fan of glitter toppers but this one is just so gorgeous! Here I used it for a glitter gradient over Zoya Genevieve.
I love graphic novels and comic books! You can see what else I've been reading on Goodreads.

Jamberry Glitter Gradient

A friend of mine let me borrow a few Jamberry polishes to try out since I've never used them before and I was able to do a lovely glitter gradient with two of the polishes. I started out with a base of Jamberry Kiss and then added a bit of Jamberry Stardust to the base of my nails. Stardust is a mixture of very fine glitter in fuchsia, gold, and turquoise. It would make a fantastic Mardi Gras polish!

She let me borrow two other polishes that are sadly discontinued. The yellow polish is called Lemon Drop and it's one of the best yellow cremes I've ever tried. Yellow cremes are notorious for being a streaky gloppy messes but this one was fantastic and barely needed a second coat!

Sally Hansen Carnival - Second Try

I love the color combination of the glitter in Sally Hansen Carnival so much that I decided to try it again even though my first attempt was quite horrible. I added a bit of thinner and used one thin coat over Sally Hansen Cafe Au Lait. Still so many bubbles!
Next I added even more thinner and tried again on my right hand. Lots less bubbles but not enough glitter. Phooey!
It still looks amazing from a distance and many of my lovely readers have suggested that I try sponging it on next time. I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes someday! What are your favorite matte glitters that don't bubble?!?

Zoya Harper

Zoya Harper is my favorite from their Summer 2014 Bubbly collection.

Zoya describes Harper as "a cotton candy pink with a spun gold shimmer. Featuring the exclusive liquid-metal holographic jelly formula" & I agree. I love the way Zoya does gold & silver micro shimmer & it looks particularly stunning in a jelly formula. As for the holographic sparkles, they are the same lovely pastel cellophane glitter featured in Monet, just in a smaller size. Zoya Harper is shown here at 2 coats but I could almost get away with just one.

I didn't really like pink polish when I started blogging way back in 2009 but now I love a gorgeous pink and Harper has made into my top 5 favorite pinks for sure! I'd say this one is a must have for pink polish lovers.

Layering With Zoya Stassi & Monet!

Zoya Monet has become an unexpected favorite so I decided to add it to Zoya Stassi which has the same type of glitter just in smaller pieces. What a stunning combination!

Zoya Stassi

Zoya Stassi is from their Summer 2014 Bubbly collection.

Zoya Stassi is a medium toned spring green polish loaded with gold micro shimmer and holographic cellophane glitter. I love green polishes but this one isn't particularly flattering on me; I think I'm keeping it anyway though since it's so unique.

Zoya Rooney & Electra

I love creme polishes but sometimes we all need a little bit of flash! I added just a bit of the spectacular Zoya Electra on top of Zoya Rooney. Simple & pretty.

Sally Hansen Carnival

I almost never buy polishes without looking up swatches & reviews first but Sally Hansen Carnival just looked so fantastic that I grabbed it without doing my homework. Not a good idea! Most every review I've seen shows the sad truth, ugly bubbling is almost inevitable. I decided to try it out anyway of course & I had high hopes at first. It actually applied quite nicely with a decent amount of glitter over my previous manicure of Nicole By OPI Better After Dark. It didn't seem gloopy or bubbly at all & I applied Essie Good To Go thinking all would be fine. Over the next few hours tons of bubbles formed wrecking what is otherwise a fantastic idea for a polish. Sally Hansen Carnival is a matte glitter with a truly gorgeous & quirky color palette that I found irresistible but so far no good! I'm going to try adding some polish thinner & giving it another chance since I love the colors so much but this one is probably a dud.

Zoya Alma

Zoya Alma is from their Summer 2014 Bubbly collection.

Zoya describes Alma as "a warm golden peach metallic featuring the exclusive liquid-metal holographic jelly formula" but I'd call it more of a straight up though slightly faded orange. I love the way Zoya does gold & silver micro shimmer & it looks particularly stunning in a jelly formula. As for the holographic sparkles, they are the same lovely pastel cellophane glitter featured in Monet, just in a smaller size. Zoya Alma is shown here at 3 easily applied thin coats. Great color for summer! This is a nice polish but I definitely prefer the more saturated Jesy from the same collection.

Zoya Muse

Zoya Muse is from their Summer 2014 Bubbly collection.

This is a tricky polish review! Zoya Muse is a blue raspberry jelly with Zoya's lovely gold microshimmer & pastel cellophane glitter featured in Monet, just a smaller size. I had a lot of trouble applying this one. Muse is very pigmented so only needed 2 coats, but you absolutely can't go over a wet area without dragging, in this case pulling off all of the polish you just applied. It wasn't self-leveling either. I remember asking Will to help accomplish a minor task saying, "I don't want to mess up my nails because I never want to use this polish again."

But then I caught a glimpse of my hands in the mirror later that night couldn't help but notice how gorgeous this polish is. Over the next few days I decided that Zoya Muse is just way too pretty to give up on after one try. I've never seen anything else quite like Zoya Muse & it just looked great on me.  She's a keeper even after a bad first go round!

Zoya Jesy

Zoya Jesy is from their Summer 2014 Bubbly collection.

Zoya describes Jesy as "a full coverage, fiery coral orange metallic holo featuring the exclusive liquid-metal holographic jelly formula" & I agree. I love the way Zoya does gold & silver micro shimmer & it looks particularly stunning in a jelly formula. As for the holographic sparkles, they are the same lovely pastel cellophane glitter featured in Monet, just in a smaller size.  Zoya Jesy is shown here at 3 easily applied thin coats. Great color for summer!
