The Shining Nail Art!

My sister Ashley decided to do some ambitious nail art for the opening of Room 237 a documentary which explores numerous theories about Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” and its hidden meanings.

She started with a base of Zoya Dea then carefully drew the orange pattern with a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Orange. Finally she added the red dots using Zoya Kristi. I'm blown away by this manicure! She is so much more patient than I am. Fantastic idea & excellent execution!

Here are some fun The Shining related links!

Iron Man Nails!

I love comic books, graphic novels, & all things superhero. My dad, Ashley, & I all went to see Iron Man 3 this afternoon at the IMAX theater. It was lots of fun & Ashley suggested that I do my some Iron Man nails. I think they turned out pretty good!

I used two polishes from Zoya's Irresistible collection of super light reflecting foils which are perfect for superhero nails! I used Zoya Hazel for his eyes & the arc reactor & Zoya Kerry for his face. Sadly I passed Zoya Kym onto a friend years ago back when I didn't like red polish; it would have been perfect. I used Sally Hansen nail art pens in red & black for the rest. I can't get over how amazing Zoya Kerry is, look at that glow! (This is my First ever GIF! I used GIFninja, recommended to me by Lifehacker.)

XOXO Valentine's Nail Art

My first Valentine's Day nails for this year. The base is Sation Chocolate Chip Resistant & I made the x's & o's with my Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Red. I really love nail art pens. I could never do this with a brush & if you mess up, you can just wipe it off. (They don't set until a topcoat is applied.)

Geometric Nail Art

This was the first manicure I did with my Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens. I didn't really have a plan; I just started doodling. I love it & would never have the patience to accomplish the same thing with a brush. I used Zoya Evvie for the base & a yellow nail art pen.

Boo!

I can't believe I've gone so long without trying nail art pens! I would never have been able to do this manicure with a brush & I love it so much. I used the lovely Sation I Paint In Peace for the base & Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen Orange for the letters.

Zoya Katherine Halloween Accent Nail

I recently purchased my first nail art pens & I love them so much! Here I used Zoya Katherine for the base & Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen Orange. It's like drawing with a marker & just so, so easy to use. The very best part? If you mess up, you can just wipe it off & start again like nothing happened!!! This does mean that you'll need to put a topcoat on your art when you're finished but I always do that anyway. I'll be buying more nail art pens soon because they allow me to do all sorts of things I don't have the patience for with a brush.
