Color Club Holiday Splendor is from the 2011 Beyond The Mistletoe Collection. I've posted about two others from this set here & here; they are all incredible! Shown here at two coats, it's very easy to apply as long as you wait a bit between coats to avoid dragging.
Holiday Splendor is easily the most insane & blingiest polish I own. It got more attention than every other manicure I've ever worn. Blue leaning green jelly base loaded with holographic glitter. So excellent!!!

Lime Crime Lavendairy & Layering With Color Club Covered In Diamonds
Lime Crime
has released their first nail polish collection & they've done
quite a good job. The packaging is fabulous, full of purple, glitter
& unicorns. I love the bottle shape & the brushes are a bit
wider than most which I always prefer. The collection, called Les Desserts d'Antoinette,
contains a rainbow of pastel shades & an off white. The formulas
were all a little on the thick side & work much better with thick,
as opposed to thin coats. Overall a very good first polish offering!
Here's what Lime Crime has to say about their polishes.
7 pastel shades, inspired by confectionery delights from Marie Antoinette's table. Recklessly pigmented crème formula is rich, smooth and opaque in just two coats. Each bottle comes equipped with a flat, wide brush for superb control and flawless application. Never tested on animals. 3-Free.Lime Crime Lavendairy is a lovely lilac pastel that I find very flattering with my skin tone. I think it will be on my toes a lot this coming winter. I had a bit of trouble with this one until I figured out that thick coats work better than thin with this collection. Shown here at 2 coats.
The next day I added a layer of Color Club Covered In Diamonds. It's an interesting polish but sadly the mylar pieces seem to have degraded over time & the polish is even gloppier than that was the last time I'll be using it.

Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe
I won this polish from Whitney of Elemental Styles & I'm finally getting around to posting it. Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe is blue tinted version of Color Club Sugarplum Fairy. Shown here at 3 coats & 2 coats of topcoat. The formula is a bit gloopy but not too difficult to apply as long you wait a bit between coats. This one is also awesome!

Color Club Sugarplum Fairy & Quick Nail Art
I won this polish from Whitney of Elemental Styles & I'm finally getting around to posting it. Color Club Sugarplum Fairy is the loudest, craziest polish I've ever used.
Shown here at 3 coats & 2 coats of topcoat. The formula is a bit gloopy but not too difficult to apply as long you wait a bit between coats. It definitely dries gritty but the extra topcoat is worth it for the ridiculous amount of holographic bling you get with this one. I love it & so does Will; he's been sporting it on his toes for about a month!
The next day I added some Maybelline Matte Rose for a sort of art deco feel.

American Apparel The Valley & Color Club Covered In Diamonds
This is 2 coats of American Apparel The Valley. I love American Apparel polishes & this one is no exception. Easy application & pretty color.
I added one coat of the lovely but slightly troublesome Color Club Covered In Diamonds. I think it's worth the extra time it takes to apply this unique polish. You just have to work a bit to get the mylar pieces to lay flat. An extra thick topcoat helps out too! Such a pretty winter combination.

Color Club Feel The Beat

I've had Color Club Feel the Beat for a long time and used it a few times but never posted pictures somehow. I'm not a big red polish fan but I like this one quite a bit because it reminds me of Christmas ornaments for some reason. Great formula too. I think this red orange shimmer would look good under a black crackle polish for a cooling lava look!

Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau & Born Pretty Rhinestones

This is 3 coats of the lovely Take Me To Your Chateau. Nice formula with no clean up.

The next day I used some of the rhinestones given to me by Born Pretty to try out. No complaints! Nice colors & easy to use packaging.

Color Club Positively Posh & A Christmas Manicure

This is 2 coats of Positively Posh, a dusty medium creme that I feel indifferent towards. The formula is a bit runny so there was quite a lot of clean up. I have other browns that I much prefer so this one is going to my "to be frankened" bin.
Next I tried some nail art that really isn't my style but I like to try things a little outside of my comfort zone from time to time. I think I would have preferred a more intense green. I used Color Club Feel the Beat & Maybelline Khaki Fringe.

Color Club Covered In Diamonds

Here we have Color Club Covered In Diamonds over 3 different polishes. Definitely not for wearing alone but it's a very interesting and unique top coat. Pictured above is Strange Beautiful Cinder Block.
Next we have Covered In diamonds over this franken from a few weeks ago. One coat on my pointer & middle fingers and 2 coats on the other fingers.

Last we have 2 coats over my latest franken from my last post. The second picture was taken in the shade.

This polish is made of pieces of super thin plastic or mylar. It's a little difficult to get the pieces to lie flat but you can do it with a bit of extra effort and a thick topcoat. Fun for occasional use.

Color Club Soft As Cashmere

Nice color but it's super sheer & thin. This is coats, & you can see below that it's not nearly enough. This would take at least 4 coats, possibly 5! No thanks for a polish that isn't unique. I'm actually wondering if I got a bad bottle since I haven't seen anyone else have this problem. Does that happen though?
Essie Chinchilly is very similar, maybe a bit less yellow toned than Soft As Cashmere. This one's going into my to be frankened pile.

Color Club Pretty In Platinum

This is 2 coats of the lovely Color Club Pretty In Platinum. I really love this slightly frosty, super pale gray/silver! I think its very flattering and looks great with most of my wardrobe. It reminds me of a silver Silly Putty Egg I had at some point.

Color Club De-Luxe-Cious & A Ruffian

This is 3 thick coats of Color Club De-Luxe-Cious. It could have used a fourth but the formula was difficult to work with so I stopped.

I know this looks pretty in the pictures but don't be fooled into purchasing this one. It's a great idea for a unique polish but it just doesn't work in this case. It's a gorgeous dusty cornflower blue base with gold & turquoise glitter that gives an almost foil like finish. But even with a good topcoat it dries dull & bumpy. It was also extremely difficult to remove.
This one's going into my "to be frankened pile".
The next night, I added Maybelline Matte Sapphire. This is my second attempt at a ruffian manicure and I really like the end result this time.

Color Club Blue Light & A Roundup of Giveaways.
First I want to show you one of my favorite polishes and then after the pictures I have a list of some great giveaways I have run across recently.
The first picture is from a couple of months ago when my nails were still short and I wasn't very good at doing my nails. While I do love this color, what really won me over is it's durability. I usually change my polish everyday or two. However I caught a really bad cold and was unable to change my polish for a whole week! My nails finally started to show a bit of wear on the seventh day. I don't know if all of this brand's polishes wear this well, but if you are looking for a great color that will last try Color Club's Blue Light.

Here is my list of giveaways. All of these are easy to enter, nothing complicated or confusing.
First we have an amazing nail polish giveaway from Body and Soul. Win a complete 12 piece set of the Barielle/All Lacquered Up Collection, a complete boxed set of Color Club's Wild at Heart Collection, or a complete boxed mini set of Color Club's Dark Romance The Matte Collection! Contest ends August 31.
Next we have another amazing nail polish giveaway from Glittermillie. Win 5 Barry M polishes or 1 Illamasqua! Drawing will be held September 9th.
This is a giveaway for hair products from Beauty Blogging Junkie. Each winner will receive five of each product.
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality Shampoo
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality Conditioner
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smoothing Crème
You have all probably entered this one already! Another great nail polish giveaway from Polish or Perish. Grenade, 45 Caliber & Military Blues from BB Couture for Men.
This is an exciting giveaway from Bare Budget Beauty and the Body Shop. Win a set of their new tea tree oil product line.
This one is a little out there. From one of my all-time favorite blogs notcot. Win one of these crazy hoodies. You do have to send an email to the company for this one, but it is pretty fun.
This is from OPI and O magazine. Win Coleccion de España by OPI.
This is a blog I just discovered that I find really exciting. They showcase giveaways for handmade items. Look at the Kitty mobile!
Wow that is our longest post so far I think.

Ashley and I were recently invited to a masquerade ball. We weren’t planning on attending and then inspiration struck. I had 2 very similar dresses with great colors. We each wore one and matched our nails to the 5 different colored stripes in each dress. It was fun!

From pinky to thumb on both hands in the picture below China Glaze for Audrey, China Glaze Entourage, OPI Blue My Mind, Finger Paints Yellow Bikini and China Glaze Recycle, all with Nail Tek Foundation II as a matte topcoat.
See they match the stripes! Here are Ashley’s colors. From pinky to thumb on both hands Color Club Blue Light, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Jumpin' Jade, OPI Red, China Glaze Solar Power and China Glaze Recycle. Also with Nail Tek Foundation II.
